The amazing events of Northwest Indiana history have left traces of themselves for us to explore. On the fringes of Chicago, Northwest Indiana has a rich history and many areas easy to visit. There are many areas that are commonly visited by ghost hunters which display mysterious and paranormal events occurring on a regular basis!
Join us as we visit these tragic sites and decide for yourself if they are truly haunted or just tales of merely myth and folklore.
The real research of ghost hunters combined with lively storytelling will make for an exciting and enjoyable evening for everyone.
Private Tours: Times, pickup locations and stops can be altered for any private tours! Any size group. Rates vary by group size. Please email us for a rate sheet if interested in a private tour.
Tour sites will have a variety of stops. There will be an opportunity to get out of the bus and take pictures at a few of these locations. The tour is partly done by bus with some limited walking involved. Most tours will consist of 8 - 12 haunted locations plus a number of ghost stories from the area, Ghost Photos, EVP demonstrations, use of real ghost hunting equipment on the tour and much more!

The Slice before the spirits (Diner, Drinks and Ghost hunts)
$32 per person
Join us as we venture through the realms of a few of Lake County’s most haunted places. Mike will give a one hour presentation with paranormal photos, EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and video captured from some of the most Haunted locations of NW Indiana. After this presentation we will walk down to the Crown Point Old Jail for a one hour ghost hunt using a vast array of ghost hunting equipment in hopes of catching a glimpse of something for ourselves.
We have done this event in the past and guests have captured EVPs along with us! Tour goers have also felt cool icy chills, had strange feelings in certain areas of the jail and on occasion witnessed something inexplicable themselves! You also get to use a lot of ghost hunting equipment to look for the ghosts too!
Although the dinner and drink expense is on your own, the cost is very reasonable. Masks required this year.

THE HAUNTED PUB CRAWL OF VALPARAISO

This tour is a true CRAWL to some haunted Bars of Valparaiso. There is no bus. We’ll visit frightful destinations and the haunted sites in between. You’ll enjoy the spirited history and the spirited drinks along the way. We’ll visit 4 - 5 haunted establishments, depending on the time and constitution of our guests. You will get a more detailed account of Valparaiso's rich history and more downtown Valparaiso ghost stories!
We'll spend more time at these haunted establishments than what we would on a normal tour, exploring their darker and spookier past and hauntings while sipping our favorite beverages.
Join us for this lighthearted yet spirit filled event. Ages 21 and over only! Alcohol is not provided or required but is certainly encouraged.

For a different tour of darkness, join us for a trip to the haunted pubs of Northwest Indiana. The tour is roughly 3.5 hours in length starting at 7 PM. We’ll visit frightful destinations and the haunted sites in between. You’ll enjoy the spirited history and the spirited drinks along the way. MIKE MCDOWELL
Owner Chaos Tours, Paranormal Adventurer, CEO Indiana Ghost Trackers
Mike as been investigating hauntings since 1997 and began the Indiana Ghost Trackers in August 2000 which he still manages. He's investigated hundreds of locations around the US and he's conducted ghost tours of NW Indiana since 2001, He's been featured in numerous television productions, news articles, live television and radio interviews over the years. Mike has been training people in paranormal investigation since 2001 and has taught classes all across Indiana as well as ghost hunting courses at Purdue University.
Mike is involved in Toastmasters International having served a club president and VP of PR. Mike was awarded the Gold Communicator Award in 2020 which is the highest level of public speaking achievement in the organization. (https://www.toastmasters.org/)

CHRIS LINCOLN
Midnight Tours
Chris Lincoln is a region Paranormal Investigator and folklorist who has been hunting Ghosts since his teens, before it was trendy to see paranormal reality shoes on television. Chris has been many times over the years to the some of the areas most noted haunted sites and areas of legend and also to national sites like the Lizzy Borden house and Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Inspired by reading many books of the writings and journeys of Author and Ghost Hunter Hans Holzer, and Harry Price, (the Fathers of modern Paranormal research), and a family member who lives in a haunted house where Chris had some paranormal experiences as a youth, Chris knew early on his mission would be to find the truth. Chris also has an uncanny ability to gather good E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). Even though not psychic, he is still discovering why EVP activity increases during his sessions. Chris also specializes in tech gear and is always up on the latest instruments and techniques in the Paranormal field. With a background in technical fields and Law Enforcement, he is always a skeptic first, since many so called "hauntings" as he says, can be explained naturally. But if you were to ask him if Ghosts do indeed exist, you would get a firm definite answer!!

CHRIS MCDOWELL
Ghost Tour Guide The Porter County Terror Tours
Chris McDowell has been ghost hunting with his father Mike since the early age of 10 years old. His first paranormal encounter was at the age of 5 years old in his own bedroom seeing a young woman appear in his room who told him never to tell anyone she was there. She would talk to Chris almost every night. When he told his parents, she appeared one last time and told him that she would never appear again because he told people about her. A few years later Mike found out from the neighbors that a woman was murdered and her body dumped on the vacant lot where their house now stood. Was this .... the murdered womans' ghost? Perhaps it was!
Chris has is own style of tours that he does. Along with sharing the history and ghost stories of the region, its not uncommon for him to break out his guitar and put on a bit of a musical show while traveling down the dark and spooky roads. Chris currently plays with a band called Evil Waves and often an be found playing shows around NWI and the Chicago area. Chris has been trained to investigate the paranormal while working with his dad.
TONYA PHILLIPS
Haunted Pub Crawl Specialist and walking tours
Tonya has always been intrigued with death and what comes after. Growing up, she could be found dragging her Aunt and Uncle through cemeteries for hours on end to look at the tombstones. Further intrigued by the fact that she lived near the defunct Manteno State Hospital, she dabbled in the science of ghost hunting. Her first date with her husband was to a cemetery in the Kankakee State Park. Once a regular client of Chaos Trips, she and her husband joined Indiana Ghost Trackers South Lake Chapter. Now into any ghost hunting activity she can find, Tonya can be found dabbling in her photography, and stopping at just about every cemetery she can find, hoping that one day the dead will talk back. Her most recent addiction is old county poor farms, and mental institutions, and of course, the cemeteries that go along with them!
Denise Gundelach
Haunted Walking Tours and Pub Crawls
Denise and her Husband Earl travel the midwest in the off season exploring Haunted locations with the Indiana Ghost Trackers and other paranormal groups. They also work together at the Old Jail in Crown Point in the off time helping out Sandy Boyd with projects, tours and running various events. Denise can give you a lot of great ghostly stories from working at the jail!
Denise attributes her facination with the paranormal to an event that she experienced as a young chilld where she saw a blue-green spectral woman appear in front of her on a stairway in an old mansion that she was visiting. The old woman beconed Denise to follow her and she follwed the ghostly woman up the stairs. The woman was wearing a black dress of an older style and made no noise as she floated above the creeky stairs and old floor. She had gone into a large bedroom at the top of the stairs with a four poster bed. Once Denise went into the room, she found that the woman had vanished, It was then that Denise felt icy cold hands gipping on her arm! Its an experience that she'll never forget!
Recently on a paranormal investigation Denise along with another investigator were walking down the hallway at Indiana Sanitorium. They saw a man up ahead in a room that appeared to be her husband Earl, but his back was to them. They both called to him but he didn't answer. He was down the hallway about 50 ft. so they walked towards him. When they reached the room they found it empty.
Earl was down the hall in the completely other direction, well past them!
